Every hour of testing costs money. Inaccurate sensor data costs more. DDM Sensors provides automotive pressure sensors that accelerate prototype phases and guarantee reliable data from the first measuring point.
Application areas of our automotive pressure sensors
Combustion and hybrid vehicles (HEV/PHEV)
Our pressure sensors cover a wide range of applications in vehicles with internal combustion engines and hybrid drives. These include the monitoring of low and high pressure in fuel systems, the control of oil pressure, and pressure measurement in exhaust gas aftertreatment for diesel and gasoline particulate filters (DPF/GPF). Furthermore, they are used in brake-by-wire systems, for example for braking and driving tests, as well as in air conditioning systems, including CO2-based systems.
Battery electric vehicles (BEV)
For battery electric vehicles, our sensors are designed for safety- and efficiency-critical systems. This includes monitoring the coolant pressure in the thermal management of the battery, for which specific differential pressure sensors are also available. Other areas of application are the control of heat pump systems and the acquisition of brake pressure to control recuperation and guarantee vehicle safety.
Hydrogen & fuel cell vehicles (FCEV)
For fuel cell systems, we offer pressure sensors for the low-pressure range in the stack and anode-proximal environment of fuel cells. They support precise pressure monitoring during the development and testing of hydrogen applications as well as in driving tests of fuel cell vehicles.
Our hydrogen-compatible sensors are made of 316L and are welded without seals. They have been tested under realistic media conditions with hydrogen, nitrogen, water vapor, and liquid water. A manufacturer’s declaration for use in hydrogen applications is available.
Technical specifications at a glance
The basis for reliable measurement results are sensors that work precisely even under the demanding conditions of automotive use – from extreme temperatures to strong vibrations and aggressive media. Custom sensor solutions for specific requirements
We offer application-specific adjustments to our pressure sensors to be precisely tailored to the respective requirements.
This includes the development of
- customer-specific housings
- process connections
- flexible electrical interfaces and connectors.
The possibility of integrating signal processing directly into the sensor is also part of our range of services.
These customized solutions are realized in a joint development process, which also includes prototyping, in close cooperation with the customer.
Quality and reliability according to automotive standards
Our processes are certified according to ISO 9001. As a long-standing partner of German and international automobile manufacturers and their development partners, we are familiar with the high requirements of the industry.
Delivery and availability
We guarantee reliability and short paths. We rely on long-standing partnerships and source components and individual parts primarily from Germany. Metal parts come from the immediate vicinity, circuit boards and assembly also take place nationally. This enables standardized delivery times of typically 3 weeks as well as crisis-proof logistics concepts. In addition, we ensure our customers long-term availability guarantees.
