At DDM Sensors you will find miniaturized, robust and media-tight refrigerant pressure sensors, specifically developed for applications with refrigerants such as HFCs or HFOs.
Our proven pressure sensors for refrigeration technology
The proven pressure sensor models from DDM Sensors for use in refrigeration technology.
Pressure Sensor PV15
With a diameter of only 15 mm, the PV15 detects specific pressure ranges for refrigerants, for example from 0 to 150 bar, and offers a burst pressure of up to 1,200 bar. High precision is ensured by a small total error band (TEB) of up to +/- 0.25 % FS. The media-contacting parts are made of 1.4435/1.4404 stainless steel and have common thread connections such as M6x1 or M8x1, with others possible on request.
The PV15 pressure sensor is ideal for use in compact heat pumps, mobile air conditioning systems, test stands, mobile applications, and automotive testing.

Requirements for pressure sensors in the refrigerant circuit
Pressure sensors in the refrigerant circuit must meet specific requirements. These include:
High burst pressure resistance and robustness against pressure peaks and transients, as they particularly occur in CO2 systems.
A absolute tightness (hermeticity) is essential to prevent refrigerant losses and ensure system efficiency. To verify the tightness, each sensor undergoes a 100% helium leak test, in which the seal-free welded connections at the pressure port are tested.
Furthermore, material compatibility is crucial to ensure resistance against aggressive and natural refrigerants (e.g. CO2, R290, ammonia) as well as the oils used.
For efficient control of the refrigeration circuit and for energy saving, low measuring errors and thus high precision over wide temperature ranges are required.
DDM Pressure Sensors: The solution for your refrigerant application
DDM pressure sensors combine hermetic tightness, high burst pressure resistance, and excellent measurement accuracy in a compact, durable design. The laser-welded stainless steel diaphragm and the completely seal-free sensor concept enable permanently safe use in demanding refrigerant circuits.
Maximum robustness and longevity
For maximum safety in demanding applications, the pressure sensors have extremely high burst pressures, which can reach, for example, up to five times the nominal pressure. They are also insensitive to pressure transients as well as strong vibrations and shock loads.
Precise measurements for optimal system efficiency
Exact control of the system is made possible by a very small temperature-compensated error (Total Error Band, TEB). The excellent long-term stability of the sensors ensures the performance of the plant over its entire service life.
Miniaturized design for flexible integration
Particularly compact designs, for example with diameters from 15 mm, allow the installation of the sensors even in very confined spaces, as often found in modern refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
